The Physics and Astronomy Department (www.phas.ubc.ca) at UBC is one of the largest and most diverse in Canada with a group of faculty and staff who are conducting forefront research that spans the field and who are committed to attracting and training outstanding students. The Department is inviting applications from outstanding candidates for faculty positions at UBC’s Stewart Blusson Quantum Matter Institute (SBQMI).
SBQMI has strong experimental and theoretical groups working on diverse materials, details of which can be found on the Institute website (qmi.ubc.ca). Candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent, an outstanding research record, and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to effectively supervise graduate students. The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of Full or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience and will have the opportunity to create an independent research program, which complements the existing strengths of the department.
