Applications are now open for the Quantum Pathways Program at UBC’s Blusson Quantum Matter Institute (UBC Blusson QMI), offering first- and second-year undergraduate students the opportunity to gain extensive hands-on experience in quantum materials research.
The program provides multi-year summer research scholarships to students enrolled in physics, chemistry, or engineering programs whose backgrounds and identities are underrepresented in the physical sciences and engineering. Participants are offered funding to return to UBC Blusson QMI each academic year for a minimum of two years.

How to apply
The Quantum Pathways program seeks students from groups that are underrepresented in the field of quantum materials. Applicants should be enrolled in their first or second year of post-secondary education and are asked to submit the following:
- A copy of their most recent university transcript
- One letter of reference to be sent directly to UBC Blusson QMI
- A 500-word Cover letter with a statement of interest explaining the research area to be pursued and highlighting personal background and experiences.
